Where's me dog, where's me dog
he's got himself lost
in the snow and fog.

I look in the yard and under the car
on a night like this
he can't of gone far.

I check the stables but he's not there
oh where can he be,
oh where! Oh where!

I call his name out loud and shout
for him to come back
but he's nowhere about.

I tramp the fields and search the wood
I know he'd come back
if only he could!

As tears stream down my face
the fear of not knowing
sets my heart a-race.

I take my car and drive around the lanes
peeping the horn
and calling his name.

When I get home he's still not found
so I shout him again
but still not a sound.

I walk down to the pond and along the stream
and wait for a while,
but he's nowhere to be seen.

So back to the house up the steps I slog
I open the door
and there's me dog.

Written by Charlotte.

I wrote this a few years back when one of my dogs, dewy went missing the night before we were going on holiday. I spent four hours looking for him and after all that he'd sneaked back in the house!
He was a border collie cross springer. Last year he developed a brain tumer and I lost him forever last November. He was seven years old.
But least I have lots of happy memories of him, one of them being that shortly after I lost him I had a letter off some publishers saying that they wanted to publish this poem in an anthology, (I had sent it off in the summer) So this being the only poem I've ever sent off it is now the only one I've ever had published thanks to my Dewy whom I still love and think of everyday.
