| Moonlight at Midnight Moonlight at midnight And no one's awake, Save the one at window Waiting for daybreak. Her eyes staring down Into the meadows, Glittering with moonbeams And secret dark shadows. The moon sooths her nightmares Which wake her from sleep, She sits at the window She refuses to weep, While the moonlight reflects Off the darkening pane, And gathers in crystals Of yesterday's rain. The mystery of moonshine The dark, velvet night, The sparkle of starburst Say everything's all right. But her heart is not easy Her sighs fill the air, Shining in moonbeams She's not really there. 1.2.08 By Tiggee (Senior Poetry And Friends Member) | |
